Melange: Harmony in a Cup

Melange coffee is a special coffee delicacy of Austrian origin that combines the intense flavor of espresso with the soft creaminess of steamed milk. It is often garnished with a pinch of cocoa powder or cinnamon to provide an even richer taste experience.

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of espresso (about 30 ml)
  • 120 ml steamed milk
  • Milk foam for topping
  • Honey Island honey (to taste)

Preparation:

  1. Making the Espresso:
    Prepare a shot of espresso. Use high-quality coffee beans for the best flavor.
  2. Steaming the Milk:
    Steam 120 ml of milk until hot and frothy. Be careful not to boil the milk; it should just be warm and foamy
  3. Assembly:
  • Pour honey into the bottom of a tall, narrow glass.
  • Add the steamed milk and let it settle so the milk and foam separate.
  • Brew a shot of espresso, add a little water, then slowly pour it over the milk foam.

Serving:
Serve the melange immediately, optionally sprinkled with a little cinnamon or cocoa powder on top for an extra special touch.
